Studioli presents Prequel a collection of images, sounds, drawings, sculptures, films, design objects, and paintings created by the parents of artists and friends of Studioli.
Moving between historicized works and informal practices, Prequel questions the idea of singular and generational authorship.
In a present where works are reread, reinterpreted, and recontextualized, the exhibition reflects on origins as an open and shared field, and on the possibility—or impossibility—of reconstructing a stable genealogy.
