Yixiang Zhai is a young director of great promise in the Chinese film industry. He graduated from an art academy and ha a distinctive aesthetic sensitivity and approach to the world. His nuanced representation of contemporary society infuses his works with a poignant humanism tinged with bitterness. It depicts cross-sections of modern China through unprecedented perspectives and methodologies, examining and interpreting individual destinies within specific environments through a singular lens.
